Happy New Year 2014

2013 was an amazing and an eventful year. An year of happenings, awakenings, surprises, shocks, scams, shams, scandals, revelations, revolts, retaliations, system-quakes and clean ups. That's a lot to read out in a single line in a single breath. Imagine how much it is for a single year to absorb. This Christmas i was sitting with a friend of mine. He is from America and was in Delhi for a day. It was heart warming to know that he read my posts on the blog each time they were up. What surprised me was that he found me pretty much biased. He found me quite "Parochial"  with my ideologies. The word "Parochial" is a gift from him. Ha Ha! I will try my best to break out from that image of mine. And if i fail to do so, forgive me for i cannot deceive my own self. On 16 December 2012, a girl was brutally gang raped in Delhi in a moving public transport bus. This was not a good welcome to the coming new year 2013. But the consequenc...

The Vicious Circle or The Circle Of Hope

If you happen to go through The Geeta, Sri Krishna says that there is no good and no bad. It just is. It is the human mind that segregates things, activities, moments, people as good and bad, happy and sad. And, one who is free from these emotions stands wise.  Perception is the key word. The way we look at things. It is not necessary that life of a rich man will be like a  path paved with flowers and life of the poor, a rough rocky ride. Be not surprised, if you see a man at the backseat of a Bentley talking over the phone with an angry face but, a man on a cycle or a bike riding all the way from work to home with a smile that enlightens the environment. It does not take to be a poor man to look at life as "The Vicious Circle". Neither it takes a Prince to call life "The Circle of hope". It might be other way round. The rich too was once poor and lived with a hope to be able enough to take care of his family and close ones. Being passionate is one ...

Dreamer - Thinker - Revolutionary - Visionary - Icon

It was the morning of December 6 2013, that i was in my bed having morning coffee. As a daily ritual, instead of opening a morning daily in my hands i curiously opened Facebook in my smart phone. The whole news feed scroll had condolences and grief messages for a great soul that just moved into the god's house few hours ago.  Dreamer -  Thinker - Revolutionary - Visionary - Icon The Great Nelson Mandela People love the superhero they see in movies. If you ever wanted to know what a superhero looks like, your quest is over. Nelson Mandela is your answer folks! Out of what all i knew of this great human, i searched Nelson Mandela on Google. "Nelson Mandela, former South African President died in Johannesburg, South Africa few hours ago. He was an Anti-Apartheid revolutionary. He was the change maker in South Africa, often called out as South Africa's Gandhi." What a great introduction is that to the world. Totally startled by these few lines, i...

Media - The New Messiah

It's unbelievable yet so amazing, how media through it's various channels have conditioned our mindsets towards everything happening around us. Media is the new Messiah controlling our actions and reactions to what ever that takes place all around the globe. A fairness product launch is a different thing. But when you see a super star and a public figure in a T.V. commercial enticing the Indian males to use a product in order to get a lighter or a fairer skin tone, it does add to the bottom line of the product. And the bottom line or the revenues are not the only thing to work for. While you promote such products, you indirectly and maybe unknowingly, send out a message. A message that instills a sense of inferiority among st the dark skinned males.  There is Iran working on it's nuclear power plant project. But media showcases Iran as a threat to the globe because one superpower does not want Iran to stand neck to neck with it. A home is good with a basi...

What would you be - A Drop or An Ocean

What is more profitable according to you. To stand against everyone and calling yourself an individual, or stand with and amid st everyone and being called out as One. It was the 80's and the 90's when India was INDIA. Yes, that is a deep statement. India was not Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and other states to name as it is today. I remember travelling to Bombay by train every year to my maternal grand parents. Bombay Central is a fond memory. Gradually, Bombay changed to Mumbai and Bombay Central to Mumbai Central. And yes, Madras to Chennai. It goes beyond my imagination instead of Chennai Express, if it would have been Madras Express. I wonder if you my friends, realise how "Secular" as a nation we are. Not standing as a nation but as different "Unified" states. That is not sweet sarcasm. That is Irony by Instinct. Mumbai in these times boasts of  the Maratha culture and sidelines people belonging to other cultural  roots. From Bihar, came a...

"haar kar jeetney waale ko BAAZIGAR kehte hain"

This is going to be long but in the end you will find it worth while. I clearly remember my father bringing home the very first cellular phone launched in India. The geometry box, so rock solid that it could be used as weapon in self defense. Back then, it was all exclusive. Having a cellular phone and making calls from it was one thing that added to a man's repute. Till i completed my graduation and did my post graduation, evolution took it's toll. Technology advanced and evolved. The same phone which could be used as weapon in self defense was available in a size that could fit in your palm. I was smitten by fantasy of cellphone possession. I got one when i stepped into college. There were less of calls made but more of text messages exchanged. If there was a love affair happening, the spine would be the love TEXT message coming from the beloved.

शुभ दीपावली ~ SHUBH DEEPAWALI

शुभ दीपावली  Here's wishing you a very Happy DIWALI in advance today. This is one of the times when every city looks beautiful as anything. It does not matter if you witness this scene while you are on one of the streets of any city or you are in a plane flying over the skies of any city or you are in a train crossing the distances from one city to another amid st some villages too. It has to be a visual treat. From small houses to big mansions to corporate towers creating the skyline lit up so beautifully, they surely make up for a visual treat . It's like being invited to the visual Feast of the Almighty himself. All that is good but there's one thing that's not good post Diwali. While we enjoy Diwali with our family and friends by burning crackers, there is a Cumulative Diwali Syndrome being build up in the air which would act very soon on every one, once Diwali is over. We, the people, birds and animals are the ones who suffer from this la...

INVINCIBLE! No the word is "INCONVINCIBLE"

I just had a situation. I was browsing an e-commerce portal and found a nice deal. I entered my debit card number. Wolla! It just got declined. I am very sound on cash in my account. Just that the card was not yet activated for online transactions. And that is when the man of the moment, the messiah, the Personal banker heroes in. Hence, i got my deal. Ha Ha! Talking of E-commerce, have you realized the way whole buying behavior of the consumer has changed. May be, the buying behavior has changed because the buying procedure has changed. There were times when you browsed the collection in the retail stores and asked the price. You either proudly ordered  "Pack It" or to avoid the embarrassment, quite sheepishly you would say "I'll Just be back". I have had this great experience working with an E-commerce company post my post graduation. The concept then sounded new, exciting and very much enticing. Today the concept of Online selling and buying is ca...

Arrey, Woh Bada Desh Hai!

Anybody who can answer this question in a convincing manner, wins respect and admiration from my end. I fail to understand why is it and what is it that Indians, Yes INDIANS in foreign lands are so law abiding and so into the limits. I have seen live examples whenever i am on an international tour. Be it Mauritius, Europe, Singapore, America or any other nation for that matter. Indians act so careful about the respective country's norms and regulations as if they are born, brought up and served by that country. My brain nerves bleed pain as they are unable to find a convincing answer to the same. Indians, when on international tours do not drop there cola glasses out of the window in the middle of the road. But here, they do mind putting that glass on a glass holder in there car instead of throwing it out on a busy street. Indians, when on tours in other countries do not drop the fruit left overs and other trash out of there coach's window in the middle of a busy...

Instinct - An Exception or Deception

Today morning i were in my car driving down to some place for some work and Delhi rained good. When i say good, it stormed and the streets got water logged. Well it happens when ever it rains in Delhi. Forget Delhi, it happens in the biggest and the most developed of nations. So hey, i am not complaining. I am here to talk of something else. I usually keep my cars updated performance wise. I don't mind the seat covers being dirty, a pack of wafers or crunchy lying in some corner. Blame it on me or the men, we like our rooms shabby, so our cars. At least i do. But this beautiful morning, in the middle of a jam packed street , one of my car's wipers breaks creating a mess. I tend to avoid it and then another surprise, the engine heats up. I see smoke coming out of the bonnet and i don't know what to do. I start hoping for the best that could happen. And the best that could possibly happen is, when the car breaks down(God forbid if it does) it should b...

What You Sow is What You Reap

Today it's payback time. The good's and the bad's sowed all these years are reaping fruits today. The U.S. government faces a shutdown, for the next budget for 2014 fiscal year fails to gather confidence and approval from those in authority. I better not describe the after effects of the shutdown. America, the nation that acts an arbitrator to settle a dispute between two nations. Even if the two nations are not willing to settle, they better settle coming under the pressure of United States Of America. It's America, that enters and invades Iraq, in lieu of saving the citizens of Iraq. It's America, that plans to enter, invade and capture Syria (not visible enough to the people, more of behind-the-scenes act). It is America, who intervenes the nuclear power project of Iran strangling it's economy to death, by asking it's allies not to trade with Iran. Further Iran (one of the major Crude producers) refuses to export oil to other countrie...

Politics- The Prime Entertainment

Politics never seemed as entertaining as it is today. When i were a kid, entertainment to me meant cartoons, video games, music and sometimes the circus. To my parents, it would have been movies, picnics, family functions and social gatherings and activities. But as far as i can remember, politics was never as entertaining, and as enthralling as it is today. And the reason i personally believe to be explicitly true is that earlier, politicians did there job, there duty in fact. Maybe a bit of it, but they did it. Today, entering politics brings less of social and moral liability and more of a celebrity status with it.  I grew up listening to the GUT BASED LEADERSHIP examples of the iconic Indira Gandhi. I grew up seeing Lalu Prasad Yadav giving enormous profits to the nation from Indian Railways during his tenure as Railways minister. It further went as a case study in IIM's. Today, kids are more aware and participate in India's future and it's happening...

Mr. AEDES AEGYPTI is here!!

It is 6 in the evening and i just unfolded my shirt sleeves. No, i am not expecting any dignitary this moment. What i am expecting is an AEDES AEGYPTI. Because Mr. Aedes has been quite random and unpredictable to the people of Delhi. Mr. Aedes gets out for an evening fly and has it's evening snack on some human's body biting and sucking some blood, contaminating it further. And that person is left with decreasing blood platelets, adding a score to the Dengue headcount.  As i write this, i hear of a Dengue victim's father inquiring about persons with similar blood group on phone because blood banks are not trading any. They are instead short on any of the blood groups. So coming back to what i were saying, i just unfolded my shirt sleeves as a precaution because i do not wish to be the evening snack of the AEGYPTI species. I might sound a bit retro and a bit old for my age friends, but cover yourself up. For it is not just the Indian males who like the skin...

The Purple Cow In The Rat Race

This is our world. A world that functions on norms, systems, logic, history and examples. This is a world where Innovation executed, is hard to find. For every one is scared to explore, discover, invent or to be The Purple Cow. It's a world that changes with every breath we take. The ones who innovate in there respective fields are the ones who have high chances of making it to the top. Everybody and i mean everybody works and does their job but not everyone creates. There's a quote that i recall now :-   "do more than just your duty. It's the horse with the neck ahead that wins the race.".  If there had to be a choice between Work smart and Work hard, Work hard would always be at the top. Today, one needs to work hard and work more than assigned in a different manner to beat the competition. Today too, in this era of continuous awareness and advancement people are scared to dive into new horizons and explore them. If that could be overlook...

The Truth Of Documentaries

Over the years documentary viewership has increased manifold in India and abroad. It has gathered it's audience trying to tell the truths untold and revealing the secrets of the greatest mysteries of the world. If you happen to be a regular and curious audience to the documentaries that come out, i am sure you would be aware of the Loose Change series. The Loose Change Series questions and reveals the conspiracy of 9/11 attacks and claims it as a False Flag Operation. Religulous is another american documentary that examines various religions spread world wide. It questions the existence of God and probably mocks at it. The movie actually runs on scientific principles and seeks solid reasoning and logic behind the G.O.D concept. Another amazing documentary which i recall is "Zeitgeist". Zeitgeist too questions the 9/11 attacks and further claims that both, media and bankers control the international monetary system. Also, it talks of (NWO) the New World ...

If You Cannot Unrape the Rape, Then Rape the RAPE

No matter what words of praise every woman had heard of in her context. Today, the same woman hears the word "RAPE" from her friends often. So often, that if she was a sample to a research of most heard word, "RAPE" would rank numero uno. She is haunted by a new rape story every day happening so close to her that it scares her, if it might happen to her too. When the Delhi Bus Gang Rape happened and the news broke out, i thought and termed Delhi, India's rape capital. But hey, looks like the feeling of brotherhood is genuine. Other states took off the burden from Delhi's guilt laden shoulders. Mumbai, Chennai, Bihar, Assam, Punjab ~ name it and you have a rape story or a gang rape story attached to it. Let's have a precise look at the Global Rape statistics. The UN report 2012 on Rape which talks of rape statistics globally states that an estimate of 300,000 women are raped every year in United Sates Of America. It says that Botswana ( htt...

Saint Crucified Tonight!! Is he really a Saint or the World is Right ?

As i write this, i simultaneously see the news channels showing the same old story revolving round the same person. Surprisingly, it happens to be the one about a spiritual guru followed not by tens and thousands, but by millions and hundreds of millions. Asaram Bapu, at 72 is accused of a crime which the Indian ears are used to hear of. It pretty much shows in there callous reactions towards the news. Ironically, he "enlightens" his followers to overcome the same temptations which he has fallen prey to. I certainly have no interest in playing Word War, describing what he has done. What i am looking at is his sheer power. The man, as told in the news is sitting over a Rupees 125,000 crore empire backed by countless followers and there never ending follower-ship and devotion. The man certainly has an applaud worthy influential power that shouts when we look at his followers sticking with him despite the allegations made. The Police officer refuses to file an F.I...

Long Lost Love

If you are wondering i am going to talk about your Ex Girlfriends/Boyfriends, one night stands, casual sex, your first love; then my friend i certainly may disappoint you. I am here to remind you of your long lost love. One thing which you love doing. For which you were known among your friends. They probably found you talented because of that specific hobby of yours. You could be writing, singing, playing an instrument; a piano or a guitar. It could be anything that brought you joy. But the day you stepped out of your college, you were made to run the race of life. You got employed, married, had a family and served them like a diamond rough was being cut and polished to shine one fine day.But in this race of becoming what you wanted to be, you forgot your likes and dislikes. The diamond (YOU) is today spotless and white; probably the finest but lacks something. It lacks the fire, the sparkle, the glitter. I am doing nothing more than requesting you to ignite that f...

Trading Trolls

S peculation is Infectious. Speculation is another name for Anticipation that entices people to put there or there forefathers money at stake in commodity and money markets. Not just there, rather everywhere. My emphasis today is strongly on the financial markets as countless people tend to make fortunes or loose them in minutes and seconds. That's how volatile the markets are now. My story of speculation started in mid July-mid August 2011 in Austria, Europe. I was watching Bloomberg T.V, when Greece was declaring it's insolvency asking for a bail out package. I did not really understand what it meant, all i knew was that Greece was BROKE.  Maybe, the accent of the Host had me glued to the show. I showed somewhat interest in the content being delivered by him and one thing i understood, was the analogy by which Gold and Crude worked in Worldwide Markets.Gold and Crude shared an inverse relationship like foes who would kill each other if they met. If one rose, ...

Quality Education Versus Degree Affiliation

I've often heard people putting an end to conversations by saying, "And the rest is History". But I lately realise that History my friends, is never History. History lives Forever. History is Eternal. It's the History that haunts. Earlier in Ancient times, lets say maybe in the medieval India, There were Gurukul teaching the students arts and practices of Warfare, of Business, Of Occult Sciences and everything else to sum it up. But the day they finished there due course of education, they did not get a handwritten note from the Gurukul Authority stating their appraisal and clearance on the candidate's performance. There was no "Degree" as i must say to state that these new young chickens were ready to lay some golden eggs leading India to a Golden future. Mere word of the "Aacharya", the teacher was the appraisal, The letter of appreciation, The Letter of Good Faith and The Letter of Confidence stating that the candidate was good...

Religion Versus Spirituality

The world today is really fast. The world today is really monetary, really fiscal. A mere road side barber talks of money with as much passion as that of a Wall Street Scout. What differentiates these two guys is the scale at which they operate, the volumes at which they operate and the way they operate. In fact, if I dare say; the barber in comparison to Wall Street Scout would not even exist. But the passion, his sheer passion drags him to competition. But this is everywhere; in nook n corner of every  neighborhood   every city, every town and every country. We walk down the streets and see advertisements, hoardings of various businesses, which sounds perfect to me and should to many alike me. What comes like a needle in the eye is  Commercialising  Religion. I see Business houses advertising themselves at religious places, exhibiting there charity contributions, putting up sale hoardings just at the doorstep of a Shrine, a Mosque, a Temple, a ...

Ajj Mere Yaar Di Shaadi Hai

The Thought Hi everyone. It's been long you guys saw something new on the blog. This write up is dedicated to my friend Puneet and his wife Guramrit who got married in Ludhiana, Punjab on 21st July 2013. I was in my hotel room up at 5:30 in the morning. I wanted to gift this couple something else that would talk more than Functionality, Materialism and Formalities. Something they would cherish, something they would remember all through there lives. Our friendship goes back to school days from class 12th and spot today it's been TEN good years that he bares with me and i live it up with him. I sincerely hope, this gift of mine makes you happy, brings a wide smile on the faces of Puneet and Guramrit.  Just a small attempt though. Enjoy Everyone!!

A Moment At STARBUCKS

THE THOUGHT Hi everyone!! Yesterday i was having a coffee at this rich man's coffee house, Starbucks, GK M block(if you look from a common man's eye). There were two girls sitting beside me, maybe in there initial teens and i am sorry for what i did but i over heard them. Here is the conversation Girl1: I really don't know what to do!! Girl2: There's nothing to think. He's a very good guy. tujhe pata hai, once he eyes someone else, he's not coming back for you. Even if you want it. Girl1: But Yaar!! Girl2: Kya but but. Tu paagal hai kya. Just say yes to him!! don't you see, how much he cares for you!! So, the thought that struck my mind was maybe these coffee houses serve as a station for building or maybe damaging relationships. All the multinationals spend big amounts on recruiting Relationship Managers, and here we have countless of them advising each other on there relationships. Guess what!! these kids are at that age ...

American T.V Shows VS Indian Soap Operas

Remember, when you as a child had an itch in your hand as soon as you got the T.V remote. Impatiently, you would surf channels and would end up seeing a cartoon dubbed in Hindi (half of them were Asian). Where you would be sticking to Cartoon Network from 3 to 5 pm, to watch your cartoons from Centurions to Swat Cats to Power Rangers. That two hour session would elate your spirits, getting you in action mode. Again you would book the sofa seat of T.V for Talespin and Ducktails. Pretty sure you have it afresh in your mind. Growing up through the ladder of life, a lot of us were mad about the very famous Small Wonder which played on Star World, where in that robot girl(Vicki) was the perfect kid in the family. I envied her, yes I did. That was fun. Where as, what captured Indian kids on majority was this new found superhero running every Sunday morning on DD National called, “SHAKTIMAAN” who would turn himself round and again flying the skies, in the end leaving us with ...

Yeh Bharat Desh Hai Mera (c)

The Thought Good Morning every one. On this day, the 26 of January of 2013, I put forward a poem, a compilation of thoughts about my country India. The poem is called "Yeh Bharat Desh Hai Mera". It is an attempt to bring out both the positives and negatives, this nation has to offer. This is India, a secular country to be called, but still puzzled in communal differences and riots from the times i fail to remember. This is India, where the Poor is taken care of. Where the poor or the poverty struck does not need to care about his meals of the day, for this land is never short on food for charity. This is India, where Politics is a mud-play, where the commons don't matter to the political parties. What matters is there holding within the country. This is India, where riots arise on the stupid reasons of being a Temple built or a Mosque on a piece of land. I refer to the Babri Masjid case. This is India, which was considered a third world country by the glo...
