What would you be - A Drop or An Ocean






What is more profitable according to you. To stand against everyone and calling yourself an individual, or stand with and amid st everyone and being called out as One. It was the 80's and the 90's when India was INDIA. Yes, that is a deep statement. India was not Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and other states to name as it is today. I remember travelling to Bombay by train every year to my maternal grand parents. Bombay Central is a fond memory. Gradually, Bombay changed to Mumbai and Bombay Central to Mumbai Central. And yes, Madras to Chennai. It goes beyond my imagination instead of Chennai Express, if it would have been Madras Express.

I wonder if you my friends, realise how "Secular" as a nation we are. Not standing as a nation but as different "Unified" states. That is not sweet sarcasm. That is Irony by Instinct. Mumbai in these times boasts of  the Maratha culture and sidelines people belonging to other cultural  roots. From Bihar, came another state called Jharkhand by a group of people fighting for Power and recognition. From Uttar Pradesh, came Uttarakhand into existence. And the recent one was the rise of Telangana as a different state out of Andhra Pradesh.

And every time, the same sort of incidents have occurred, the reasoning has been a convincing melody to the ears. "Smaller sized states facilitate better administration and better development". Know what! Mr. Jawahar Lal Nehru said, "Smaller states make smaller minds". Believe me, what Mr. Nehru said in his times stands true today. And should you admit, it is very much evident.

Let's not be distinctive and distinguished. Let's not be the drop standing away from the ocean. A drop that evaporates in nano seconds under the scorching heat of Sun. Let's be together - Religion no bar, Historical differences no bar, Linguistic differences no bar.

Let's be the Ocean. An ocean so calm and serene standing in unity holding various currents beneath it.

Uttar Akhand se Uttarakhand hua
Hua Bihar se Jharkhand
Madhya Pradesh se Chattisgarh hua
Hua Andhra se Telangana

Nahi dekha magar kisi ne bhi
Kaise bat raha tera aangan
