Last night, we were having a dinner discussion when Hittu a.k.a Hitesh Rajani, the brainy brother he is talked of Epicenter. And out of nowhere, an altogether new angle to this word and its meaning struck to me. I heard and often hear certain things. They all have very much the same meaning. The moment, you start believing yourself as CENTER of the world, you start loosing the CENTER.
I believe it to be somewhat true, almost true, actually true!
For all things that occur and happen to us, to the world are fine tuned by mother nature in order to regulate the functioning of this world. I might be rude to say, but even the happenings and natural calamities are just fine tuned in order to keep the self sustaining world alive. Each of us is the EPICENTER, but for a little while. In that little while, whatever we do might show it's effects (good or bad) on lives of many that are beyond our reach. I hope you remember the "Nirbhaya rape case". I also hope you remember coming down of the whole nation on streets to protest against the then Indian government to wake up from it's deep slumber and take stringent actions in that measure. Nirbhaya had to be the epicenter to trigger that anger that shook India by its roots and compelled it to take a stand.
I hope you remember the coming of Anna Hazare with his hunger strikes. So sure, you would also recall shifting of all media and public attention from Anna Hazare's hunger strikes to Arvind Kejriwal's political party called AAP. That is when the epicenter shifts from point A to point B. The emergence of Aam Aadmi Party, it's bold revelations and aggressive approach gave the Indian Politics a whole new dimension. It compelled other political "clans" to pull up there socks and work more effectively and efficiently. But the immature handling abilities of Arvind Kejriwal made him loose his seat as Delhi's Chief Minister. Each one of us is the epicenter for some time. Each one of us holds immense power to do something really exemplary or really destructive in that moment of being the epicenter.
And as the saying goes;
"Every Dog has his day and Every Man has his moment"
And as far as being a man is concerned, we just get the moment and we do nothing special enough to be man enough in that moment of being the EPICENTER.
Did i just say it's better to be a dog for a dog is wiser than a man, loyal than a man and that too for a day. (Grin!)
