Looking at the prevailing political scenario, i am emotionally compelled to form an analogy. And since it's my analogy, i strongly and sincerely hope it fails its ground soon. But for the moment, it stands true. All you need is an eye to look.
I am known of Indian National Congress being 128 years old party, founded December 28,1885. I am known of BJP, Bhartiya Janta Party founded in 1980. The two Whale Sharks ruling the Indian Political sea initially. BJP proudly boasts of being the second largest political party in terms of representation in Parliament. Then in 2008 there was this alliance between 13 parties, led by BJP known as NDA ~ National Democratic Alliance to procure maximum seats in parliament to come into power. In 2004, there was another alliance between Congress, Samajwadi party and Bahujan Samajwadi party prominently, known as UPA ~ United Progressive Alliance. The Congress did so, as there was no single party which could roar majority in the Parliament. Now all of it was an obvious resultant of the Vote War among st each other. Politics became a mere entertainment show, trying to capture as large an audience as possible. Today Mr. Narendra Modi is coming up as the prime face of BJP, potent enough to lead the nation. The Congress claims of Mr. Rahul Gandhi being the game changer, if comes as the Prime Minister. There is Akhilesh Yadav coming out as the Next Gen face, the mere care taker of and from Samajwadi Party being criticized enough for enormous efforts towards there state. And amid st all this halla hoo, there are the commoners who come into play, form a party and win the battle. That political party is what we today know as AAP and it's prime face Mr. Arvind Kejriwal stands Delhi's Chief Minister today.
Now let's have a flashback of a different industry altogether. Stand up comedy became mainstream in India when this show Comedy Circus commenced giving a platform to stand up comedians. The show was a prince on air when it came to stand up comedy shows. In 2008, there was this new comedy show. The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. This show probably tried to break and capture the market which Comedy circus ruled on. It further spread its wings over the untapped market each passing day. The two shows were really good on there audiences. A sense of Duopoly prevailed. Quite similar to the way it was between Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party initially.
A sense of Apathy arose among st the stand up comedians from both the shows. Celebrity success became stagnant. So one of the Stand up comedians walked out, came up with his own comedy show "Comedy Nights with Kapil". And he rules the charts when it comes to shows. Furthermore, there was an internal rift between the main host Kapil and his sidewing Sunil Grover playing Gutthi on the show. Today Sunil Grover is coming up with a show of his own.
If you look at the whole Kapil and Gutthi episode, it pretty Much reminds me of Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal. Anna along with Arvind Kejriwal(his sidewing) came with his "Annshann", a hunger strike asking for Janlokpal. Kejriwal gradually came into limelight and formed a different political party of his own called out as AAP. And this sidewing , as confirmed by the census has failed to deliver the promised. I just wish Kapil's sidewing; Sunil grover all the very best for his new show.
Now, either the saga of Indian politics perfectly overlaps the laugh riots of Indian Stand Up Comedy Shows or our political leaders are taking inspiration from our very own comedians and comedy shows.
So when in one of previous posts i talked of good entertainment, i wasn't much off the topic. Was I?

Entertainment is happening. Politics or Comedy, we need a laugh.
That's all that matters! Isn't it?
