In one of my tweets earlier, i mentioned getting off from politics and switching to light issues to bring in light heart ed comedy. And quite frankly, i tried my best to steer clear of the political happenings. But then, what hurts and entices my pen to scribble it's political viewpoints time and again are the Rough, Rude, Lewd and Cheap comments made by our very own politicians towards the women of our nation. When you talk from Experience, it comes across as "Wisdom". But when you try talking anything and everything that comes to your mind in the name of "Experience", it is considered a worthless time wasting effort to compose sentences trying to be a "Wanna be".
I had just returned from a busy Sunday at work. Switched on the T.V and found son of the honorable President of India - Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee being criticized for his comment on the women of Delhi.
"What's basically happening in Delhi is a lot like Egypt or elsewhere, where there's something called The Pink Revolution, which has very little connection with ground realities. In India, staging candle-lit marches, going to discotheques, we did all this during our student life too, we were students too. I know very well what kind of character students should have. Those who claim to be students- I can see so many beautiful women among them - highly dented-painted. They're giving interviews on T.V., they've brought their children to show them the scenes. I have grave doubts whether they're students, because women of that age are generally not students"
I came to terms with the fact that not all Politicians (is necessary and mandatory) are Responsible, Educated, Sensitive and Sensible people. The man was much criticized for his comment on the women of India. If one was not enough, we have another recent stupid comment from the president of Samajwadi Party. He says that "Woman who has sex outside her marriage should be hanged". He currently has everyone (minus the political pundits) on there nerves. Mr. Azmi, it is India not your Harem and you can not pass out such comments "Just Like That!"
I was again shocked when i heard what i heard. Mulayam Singh Yadav (aged 74) says "Boys are boys. They make mistakes. Handing death sentences for Rape is not fair." For your knowledge sir, there mare many parts of the world where people fear to spell R if it has an Ape attached to it. For, the punishments of rape there are more cruel and frightening than death itself. In India, Rapists die a comforting death. If my reactions were ever asked to be converted to be polite enough in response to the actions of above mentioned, it would be hard for them to be converted from Angry to Amusing. Instead of saying, "Sir, you are sick! Probably demented!" i would have said "Seriously dude! You're Kidding me? Oh Man! you're not? You're actually demented!"
High time the political leaders of our nation make some wise use of the stage and the mike they are bestowed with. It surely is embarrassing to see father of a minister or children of a minister apologizing publicly for there mistakes of speech.
Lines i recall now, am sure you would have heard earlier
Samajh samajh ke samajh ko samjho
Samajh samajhna bhi ik samajh hai
Samajh samjah ke bhi jo na samjhe
Meri samajh mein woh na samajh hai
समझ समझ के समझ को समझो
समझ समझना भी इक समझ है
समझ समझ के भी जो न समझे
मेरी समझ में वोह नासमझ है
